TRAINING CENTER
BELIZE MARITIME TRAINING CENTER (BMTC) was established in 2010 as a
maritime training service provider
by capable and experienced personnel
of the shipping industry.
All instructors providing training services at BMTC have years of expertise in the
field as well as long term experience
at sea and are trained in
accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
BMTC offers a series of
maritime courses as required by STCW Competencies for the continuing
education
and training of seafarers which can be found listed under the
column courses.
Maritime courses are also available at BMTC
for the shipping managers and operators with a view to enhancing
their
knowledge and keeping up with the latest changes in the marine field.
On June 4, 2010, the International Merchant Marine Registry of Belize,
Seafarers Department, (IMMARBE) granted
BMTC approval for conducting
training courses to seafarers which are indicated under the list of
STCW training courses for seafarers.
On October 18, 2011 ABS reviewed and approved each training course
offered at BMTC, as well as
the training facility’s
quality management system, on the basis
of the ABS Academy quality standard for Certification of Maritime
Training.
